Fort St. John & District Chamber of Commerce Seeks Executive Director

Position Summary:
The Chamber of Commerce in Fort St John, British Columbia is seeking a dynamic leader with extensive
business engagement and development experience. This role has a significant opportunity to build
meaningful networks, influence policy and outcomes relative to the execution of Chamber of Commerce
Strategic Plan Pillars and Vision to ensure our members are more successful as a result of our
leadership.

Mentoring, advocating, and negotiating to build membership and ensure the voice of entrepreneurs is at
the table with every level of government are critical success factors for the future of the Chamber of
Commerce in Fort St. John.

The Executive Director is responsible to build our marketing, community engagement and successfully
manage Chamber operations. A community leader with a high degree of professionalism, working in a
collaborative and coordinated capacity with a hands-on team to implement plans, Board directives and
Chamber of Commerce membership shared interests.

This position is accountable to an agile and highly invested Board of Directors for the strategic initiatives,
and day-to-day operations of the Chamber of Commerce; working within Board-approved by-laws,
policies, and budget, to implement the strategic plan, communicate with the membership, grow the
membership base, and carry out events and fund-raising initiatives.

The Executive Director will be instrumental in building and maintaining relationships with key
stakeholders, including representatives of federal, provincial and municipal government (both elected and
non-elected), the British Columbia Chamber of Commerce, other local chambers, the media, business
leaders, suppliers, the business community, members and other stakeholders, including volunteers and
key partners of the Fort St John Chamber of Commerce.

This is a full time position, with commitment from the Board for professional development and access to
Board of Directors to support initiatives and change leadership. Candidates with a combination of

Compensation
$75,000 - $95,000 per year and attractive Extended Health Care Benefit package
